1. Acceptance of Agreement
By accessing, browsing, or running computations on Beam Solver (beamsolver.app) or calling its backend APIs, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms in full, you must discontinue use immediately.
2. Non-Professional Engineering Scope
Beam Solver is an independent educational tool developed to demonstrate computational mechanics, symbolic Macaulay integration, and the Direct Stiffness Method. Use of this application does not create a professional engineer-client, advisory, or contractual relationship.
The calculations, diagrams, LaTeX derivations, and downloadable PDF reports do not constitute certified structural engineering advice, design submittals, or construction documents.
Any individual or entity considering the use of these calculations in structural designs, load ratings, or construction projects must have all inputs and results independently evaluated, recalculated, and approved by a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) authorized in the relevant jurisdiction.
3. Disclaimer of Warranties (“AS IS”)
THE SERVICE AND ALL CALCULATION RESULTS ARE PROVIDED STRICTLY ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, THE AUTHOR, CONTRIBUTORS, AND HOSTING PROVIDERS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY, SYSTEM ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that calculations will be error-free, that results will meet specific building code standards (such as AISC, ACI, Eurocodes, or National Structural Code of the Philippines), or that the server infrastructure will be uninterrupted or secure.
4. Absolute Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHOR, DEVELOPERS, OR AFFILIATED ENTITIES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE, PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, ECONOMIC LOSS, WORK STOPPAGE, PROJECT DELAYS, OR LOSS OF BUSINESS REPUTATION ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE BEAM SOLVER.
Your sole and exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction with the software or results is to stop using the application.
5. Academic Integrity & Educational Conduct
Beam Solver generates step-by-step analytical solutions using Macaulay singularity notation, Clapeyron's Theorem of Three Moments, and the Method of Superposition. These derivations are provided as learning aids and educational references.
Users enrolled in academic institutions are strictly responsible for adhering to their school's academic honor codes, examination policies, and assignment guidelines. Submitting generated solutions without comprehension or attribution when prohibited constitutes academic misconduct by the user, for which the platform assumes no responsibility.
6. Intellectual Property & Permitted License
The computational algorithms, singularity functions, matrix formulation routines, vector diagram renderers, user interface design, and branding are the intellectual property of Gerard Nathaniel A. Esoy.
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and export PDF solution reports for personal, academic, and non-commercial research use. You may not sell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, decompile, or commercially repackage the solver engine or its components without prior written permission.
7. Computational Resource Use & API Restrictions
To guarantee service availability for all users, API endpoints (/api/solve, /api/export/*) are monitored and rate-limited. You agree not to:
- Deploy automated bots, scrapers, or crawlers that flood the solver with repetitive or high-concurrency requests.
- Attempt to circumvent computational rate limits, security headers, or authentication tokens.
- Inject malformed or malicious payload structures designed to trigger denial-of-service conditions in the SymPy or LaTeX pipelines.
We reserve the right to throttle, block, or permanently ban IP addresses or user accounts engaging in abusive activity.
8. Voluntary Support & Donations
Financial support provided through Ko-fi or community contribution channels represents voluntary gifts in support of maintenance and server hosting. Donations are non-refundable and do not establish a commercial contract, service level agreement (SLA), or priority consulting arrangement.
9. Governing Law & Severability
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict of law principles. If any provision of these terms is determined to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
